Perhaps lack of originality in the name and inspiration, but Metamorphosis Shelf by Sebastian Errazuriz certainly visually striking.
This is a book inspired as many other forms of nature, but in particular to an ivy, a climbing plant that is able to multiply and invade every space, making it pleasant, but sometimes ugly and intrusive.
In this case I see this library as a representation of the fact that reading and words can invade our lives in a sprawling, but positively.
Certainly, the fact that the wood is painted black, does not make the library less scary than it actually may seem at first glance.
