Splendid work carried out by British Ian McChesney This “Out Of The Strong Came Forth Sweetness” (The sweetness comes from the force) is a large sitting area that includes a lounge oval from which extends a narrow curved line of 22 meters in height. The inspiration comes from the effect generated by a tablespoon runny molasses: the result – as the title suggests – is a solid and fluid at the same time.
“Out Of The Strong Came Forth Sweetness” was commissioned by Derwent London for the Angel Building: the new office, designed by AHMM Architects, Near the Angel tube station in Islington (London). A fluid form, in contrast to the very rational nature of the adjacent construction.
The piece is made of carbon fiber to make strong, lightweight and exceed the data size. Ian McChesney has worked extensively with engineers Atelier One and then followed the design with those of Gurit. Everything was made of establishments on the island of Wight.
