Map Cabinet, furniture carved Bo Robert Ek

Travelling with the imagination is certainly less expensive than doing it in reality. There is no need to leave at all times and will avoid disappointment compared to expectations too high. Travel remained inside the house, after all, is infinitely safer.

That’s why the young Robert Bo Ek, Still a student at Konstfack Stockholm, has designed the Map Cabinet, which, irony aside, it is a particular a cabinet whose doors are carved with beautiful views, as were many windows on worlds to explore.

Layers of different colored wood essences and contribute to forming squares idyllic forests or waterfalls, lunar landscapes and endless prairies: behind the two doors, shelves and an endless series of drawers could perhaps, contain memorabilia of the real trip. Map Cabinet has been exposed to Greenhouse during the Stockholm Furniture Fair.
