Glass work on display in Venice


The Murano glass will be on display in Venice from 11 December 2010 to April 25, 2011 in the exposition called “The Adventure of the glass. A thousand years of Venetian art “at the Museo Correr. The aim is to celebrate the millennium, more properly the history of glass in Venice and the Lagoon, through this important event by Aldo Bova and Chiara Squarcina, which represents the largest display on after the great exhibition of 1982 at the Palazzo Ducale.

In addition to the extraordinary glass processingThe exhibition will celebrate a very important event, namely the 150th anniversary of the birth of the museum in 1861 by Abbot Zanetti.



The exhibition is organized chronologically into four sections, Known: archaeological glass, from the fifteenth to the eighteenth century nineteenth century twentieth century.

On display there are over three hundred exhibits, which will be used to trace the origins and development of the art of glass Venice.

It starts from the arrival in the Lagoon, in the classical age, glass, even from remote areas, to the ever-closer union between the glass and design that has allowed the development of Murano glass production.

From 26 February, also will be available also shows a further selection of more than one hundred works from the collection Maschietto, for the first time in the city.
